The vibration welding process is based on heating and plastication of the contact surfaces by external friction. Vibration welding of thermoplastic polymer materials is particularly suitable for joining medium to large plastic parts (up to 900 cm² welded surface area) and is characterised by significantly shorter cycle times compared with other welding techniques.
Materials:
All thermoplastics can be vibration welded (e.g. PE, PP, PA, PPA, POM), with the exception of soft plastics that do not have the necessary structural strength and therefore tend to vibrate with the welding head.
