On specially designed injection moulding machines, products can be manufactured with two or more material types in one production cycle using the multi-component moulding process. For this, either the cavities in the mould are filled with different materials or a second material is applied to a material previously injected into the cavity. After cooling, the two materials form a solid joint and must therefore be compatible with one another. The process is suitable in particular for products with hard/soft areas.
