A variant of the 3D process is suction blow moulding. Whereas during the 3D process, the mould is gradually closed during or after complete insertion of the parison, the mould is already closed at the beginning of the suction blow moulding process. A vacuum system draws the parison through the mould before it is inflated. This method allows even complex geometries to be produced with minimum waste.
