Single-component moulding

During single-component moulding, a material type is extruded to form a parison by means of an extruder head and extrusion die, thereby regulating the wall thickness of the parison – and hence also of the finished product. Moulding can be performed continuously (continuous extrusion) and discontinuously. The mould surrounds the parison which is then inflated with compressed air. Depending on the application, material may be squeezed out of the actual mould so that a refinishing of the product (cutting off of the excess material) is necessary.
