Thermoforming is particularly suitable for quickly creating preliminary functional models of plastic during container production. The outer geometry is made from two thermoformed half shells – inner ribs, retainers, connectors and filler neck thread are produced on CNC machines and welded into or onto the shells before the shells are welded together. The thermoforming moulds are made from hard foam or aluminium, depending on the quantity required, and finished using 3D CNC milling machines. Transparent containers can also be made of PC or PET for inclined position and flow tests.
