The patented GEIGERrohr® is characterised by a significantly lower weight than conventional steel pipes, thus contributing to reducing the overall vehicle weight and consequently also the general fuel consumption. Field of application and function

• Transport of the coolant within the coolant circuit.
• Application also for pipework near the engine with high demands on heat and pressure resistance and resistance to vibrations.

Application conditions and specific demands

• Operating medium is a water/glycol mixture.
• Temperature range from – 40° C to + 120° C, briefly also up to 140° C; in future the temperature demands will become even higher due to the closer packages, higher percentages of engines with turbocharger (ambient temperatures above 200° C) and the increase in the coolant temperature in order to optimise engine efficiency and exhaust emissions behaviour.
• Have to remain pressure-tight and leak-tight during the service life of the engine.
• Must make optimum use of the installation space and as integral components must contain additional functions and parts, such as brackets, clips, branches, sensors, valves and quick couplers.

• Polyamide 66 with 30 percent glass fibres (PA 66 GF30).
