GEIGER Automotive has been developing and producing shut-off systems for more than 15 years. They permit a regulated flow and shut-off at the radiator and engine compartment and thus optimise the heat balance. As a result, they reduce both the engine wear during the cold phase and the fuel consumption and pollutant emissions. In the process GEIGER Automotive has succeeded in constantly developing the shut-off systems further – from simple flaps up to electronically controlled and continuously variable systems.

• Controlled flows through radiator and engine compartment.
• Optimises the engine heat balance: Reduces both the engine wear during the cold phase and the fuel consumption and pollutant emissions.
• Quicker and more intensive heating of the passenger compartment: The auxiliary heater can thus be eliminated or designed smaller.
• Significant improvement in acoustics.
• Reduces the Cd value* (depending on the vehicle).

Application conditions and specific demands

• Has to withstand ambient temperatures between – 40° C and +125° C.
• Ensures reliable function even in winter conditions with snow and ice.
• Unaffected by dust and dirt.

Materials

• Standard materials are polypropylene (PP) and polyamide 66 (PA 66), each with 30 percent glass fibres.
